A little book on Lord Ganesha

I always felt some kind of connection with Lord Ganesh. I like Lord Ganesh very, very much. I would like to collect in this little book a few stories about him, from Sri Chinmoy and other sources.

Who has not dreamed of meeting and playing with Lord Ganesh?

That is one of my favourite dreams. It always happens in a large, lush, green garden, the sky very blue and clear, the sun warm and golden, but not too hot. There are usually fountains, and a silver creek in the garden. Sometimes we plays with a ball. Sometimes he tells stories, sometimes he ask me to tell them. He always is smiling and quite happy.

Lord Ganesh is extremely strong, extremely gentle, and extremely wise.

Ganesha and personification of principles.

I Am Thai Buddhist but we also rever Ganesh and Vishnu and Shiva here - as Thai Buddhism is intertwined with the Buddhist culture. Althoug officially Buddhist, all the ceremonies performed for the royal palace are made by the Brahmin priests. There are unfortunately now only 7 Brahmin priests remaining.

I have started a blog about the matter on the siamfoundation dot org project. http://brahmin.siamfoundation.org/thai/index.php
Any knowledgeable people such as yourself are welcome to comment and add to the information on the site, and you shall receive a link to this blog from my site too, for being so informative and well studied. The Jpeg of Ganesh is wonderfully explained.
I personally dont believe in entity of the deities rather in cosmic principles that are personified so that normal humans can get to grips with abstract concepts.

But i may be wrong, the universe is so mysterious and has so many amazing things in it. But the symbolism of the deity's weapons show that it really is just talking about symbolism and that the real principle is neither humanoind, nor an elephant, rather formless.

Thank you
