The Love of Music

THE LOVE OF MUSIC

The love of music
Flowed in our home
Like water in a river, unimpeded.

My parents, singing in harmony,
And music coming out of the record player.
Romantic music it was, but music nevertheless,
And I remember with fondness
Sitting in front of the phonograph
Listening to music for children and other music as well.

O music! Your call has come to me
Like the soft whisper of a breeze.
Coming from my soul,
And yet I dare question it?

In my moments of confusion,
Grappling to understand,
I harken back to that moment
When your call came, unsought,
Yet unopposed when it arrived.

I followed it spontaneously, intuitively,
As all my best decisions have been made.

Today I find myself
On the threshold of a dream,
Another creative journey awaiting,
The crystallization of a vision.

I have taken the leap,
And joy fills my being.

I shall do it for the joy of my soul,
I shall do it for the beauty of my heart,
I shall do it to honor my God, the Creator Supreme,
From whom this love of music was a gift
To lift my life from its deep slumber
And raise it to His Wonderful Heights.

Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude!

And salutations to a new beginning....

Beautiful

I read it, or better, drank it deeply. Such an inspired, suggestive, God-resounding poem.

Thank you
